Why I'm building StorageFlow
StorageFlow Team
I shopped for storage management software the way most operators do: a spreadsheet open and a browser tab for every vendor.
The first thing I noticed is that half the industry won't tell you what their product costs. "Pricing available upon request" came up again and again. Every time I followed up it meant an annual contract and a setup fee somewhere between $1,000 and $2,000, plus a demo call with someone whose job was to work out how much I could afford before quoting me anything. By the time they named a price, the vendor knew my budget and I still didn't know theirs.
A lot of this software also bills per unit. That sounds harmless until you build phase two and your software bill goes up with it, which means you pay more for the exact growth the software is supposed to help you with. The comparison post runs the actual math.
What surprised me most was what these companies brag about. Vendors still list "cloud-based" as a differentiator in 2026, and some ship Windows desktop apps you install from a download link. There are plenty more examples, and I wrote them up separately because they needed more than a paragraph.
Operators stayed on old software because the contracts made leaving hurt more than staying.
So I built the thing I wanted to buy.
StorageFlow is free for your first facility, with no time limit. I don't think a single-site operator who is just getting started should be a revenue line. Pro is $39 a month plus a small share of collected rent. That share is capped. The bill stops climbing even if your portfolio keeps growing. There's no setup fee and you pay month to month. If the product isn't good enough to keep you, I don't want a contract doing that job. You can also pass card processing fees to tenants, so you keep 100% of your rent instead of handing 3% of it to a payment processor.
The part I'm most stubborn about is competitive market data. It usually gets sold as a standalone subscription, priced per market, at rates that rival an entire software bill. StorageFlow bundles it in at no charge: 7.4 million live price points, refreshed every day. You shouldn't have to pay extra to find out what the facility down the road charges.
The newest piece is an AI voice receptionist, in early access now. The first time it answered a call for me it quoted a live rate and put a real 48-hour hold on a real unit, and that was one of the stranger moments of building this whole thing. It also won't read account details out to a caller, however convincing they sound. Your tenants' information stays private. The move-in guide walks through the whole flow.
If you'd rather check the claims than take my word for it, the compare page covers nine competitors with sources linked.
I'm building this in public and I'm easy to find. Tell me what's broken.
